2008 Event Planners Guide Advertising Specifications

What is "press ready"?

Since this guide is going to be printed, the images have to be of a much higher quality than when they appear on the web. For instance, if you were to send any of the images below to press, they'd look awful, though they look alright here! You paid for the ad space, be sure the artwork looks its best!

Here are the rules:

Images: the bigger the better. They should be at least 300 dpi at the size you want them. Convert all RGB images to CMYK.

Logos: Can use "images" specs above, but a vector file (Illustrator, CorelDraw, Freeand) saved as .eps is preferred. Please convert all RGB and spot (PMS) colors to CMYK. Outline all fonts.

Custom ads: Can use "images" specs above or please provide a press quality PDF.

Acceptable formats: Press quality CMYK PDF with fonts embedded, InDesign or QuarkXpress (collect for output to include the fonts and art), Photoshop (300dpi or higher at size and converted to CMYK), Illustrator eps (outline fonts).

Unacceptable formats: Microsoft Word, Pagemaker, Publisher, RGB files, low resolution files (ie. logos pulled off a Web site)

Full page custom
Please provide: 8.5" w x 11" h "press ready" art; Full page ads may bleed

Full page template
Please provide: "Press ready" Logo plus up to 4 high resolution photos; Accomodations and restaurants--250 word maximum description (not including address), Event spaces--200 word maximum description (includes room info grid)

Half page custom
Please provide: 6.75" w x 4.375" h "press ready" art; NO bleed

Half page template
Please provide: "Press ready" Logo plus up to 2 high resolution photos; Accomodations and restaurants--150 word maximum description (not including address), Event spaces--100 word maximum description (includes room info grid)

Quarter page custom
Please provide: 3.25" w x 4.375" h "press ready" art; NO bleed

Quarter page template
Please provide: "Press ready" Logo or 1 photo; 75 word maximum description (not including address)

Eighth page custom
Please provide: 3.25" w x 2.125" h "press ready" art; NO bleed

Eighth page template
Please provide: "Press ready" Logo or 1 photo; 20 word maximum description (not including address)
